They learn the elements of good soil and create the optimum soil mix for their gardens. Makers will observe the journey from seeds, to sprouts, to full-grown plants; They will harvest these plants, prepping the leaves to make fragrant spices. Makers will crush dried corn, and use it to make cornmeal and corn tortillas! Then they wrap up the gardening unit with a segment on pollinators, building pollinator houses!
